Kano anti- graft commission hands over scholarship payment to board

Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission says it has handed over matters relating to payments of students scholarship to the board and will henceforth only attend to any complaints about resolution.

Solacebase recalls that the state governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje earlier in the year directed the commission to take over the foreign scholarship scheme with a view to addressing the hardship facing many of the students orchestrated by some of those previously handling the scheme.

This subsequently led to the payment of stranded students on scholarship in Sudan, Egypt, Cyprus and domestic.

A statement issued by the anti-graft commission, issued by Commissioner II Baba Sharif Dala, on Tuesday said anything related to payment of scholarship of domestic or foreign students should be directed to Kano State Scholarship Board for redress.

It said the Commission commends the general public for the confidence repose on it on matters affecting them and assure them of its resolute to continue listening to their grievances for equity.
