Kano Assembly awards Ungogo LG Chair

Kano State House of Assembly committee on local government and chieftaincy affairs has honoured the Chairman of Ungogo Local Government Council, Engr. Abdullahi Garba Ramat with award of excellence.

According to the Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Nasiru Abdullahi Dutsen Amare, the award is a symbolic recognition of the council chair commitment to his technology oriented mindset.

He said, his developmental giant strides coupled with digital advancements in the local council is worthy of recognition.

“We have attested to the fact that Ungogo is now a digital local government, a pace setter in the comity of local area councils not only in Kano but in Nigeria and beyond.”

“While there are many deserving chairmen who are worthy of award in Kano, this particular one stands out excellently. Therefore we decided to honour him separately before others.”

On his part, the awardee, Ungogo local government chairman, Abdullahi Garba Ramat who dedicated the award to the entire good people of the local government area, pledged to do more while appreciating each and every individual contribution to the development of the council.

“We thank God for this, and we thank the good people of Ungogo of whom without their support, we can’t achieve anything. We have created agencies that will help us establish and expose our people to the system of e-governance at local government level. We are in the 21st century and therefore shall not be left behind.”

“Ungogo now has e-ID, and being the only local government with that speaks volume of who we are and where we want to go.”

“Our giant strides in technological development has attracted not only local investors but also the attention of international communities. We are committed and we shall continue to deliver more.”

The award presentation got in attendance traditional, political, community and religious leaders from and outside Ungogo local government area of Kano state.
