Following the reports and news swirling on conventional and social media outlets in Kano with regards to the voluntary resignation of immediate past speaker of the state house of assembly Abdulaziz Gafasa and 13 other lawmakers are already set to pitch tent with PDP.
Imagine, in the chamber, which comprises 40 members, APC has 28 members, with two lawmakers representing double constituencies such Muhammed Bello Butu-Butu from Rimin Gado and Tofa, while Mohammed Ya’u Gwarma from Kunchi and Tsanyawa.
The opposition party, PDP has twelve members. In a situation whereby the ex-speaker Gafasa and 13 aggrieved members consummated their defections plan to PDP, undoubtedly the number of opposition members would amount to 25, while the ruling party members would be depleted to 15 respectively.
This immeasurably retrogresses the APC in the grace to grass, which would pose a serious threat to both legislative and state executive arm, particularly the smooth passage of legislative bills.

Unarguably, the situation would make ruling party in the house grossly uncomfortable in the course of running as previously familiar with.
It was reportedly asserted that Governor Abdullahi Ganduje had allegedly worked out a strategy for the disposal of the ex-speaker, implicating him of having discussions with PDP members, compelled for his resignation as a mark of leaving with dignity.
If the defections of Gafasa and 13 other members transformed into reality, it would undoubtedly cause a ripple effect politically within the house and to the arm of government in the course of steering the will of the house suited to the government need.
Although, the former Speaker, Abdulaziz Gafasa and the current Speaker Hamisu Chidari have both denied such plan by some members of the House to defect to the PDP.
However, there are a strong indication that all is not well in the chamber as PDP is almost getting the attention of aggrieved APC lawmakers.
