Kano COVID-19 Fund Receives More Donations

Donations in cash and kind by public-spirited individuals and corporate organizations continue unabated in a positive response to Kano Fund Raising Committee to assist in the mitigating the effects of the noxious Corona Virus ravaging the international community.

Giving updates on the activities of the committee in a statement on Monday,  the commissioner for Information and member of the committee, Malam Muhammad Garba indicated that the latest donors include Maanah Foundation, which gave 200 (25kg) bags of maize, 200 (25kg) bags of millet, 200 (10kg) bags of rice and 200 cartons of Macaroni worth N3, 000, 000.00.

The statement said other donors are: CCECC, N300, 000.00; ASAAD Pharmaceutical Ltd, 500 pieces of lab coats; Alhaji Haruna Ringim, 10 bags of rice, 10 bags of Guinea Corn, 10 bags of wheat, 10 bags of Zobo; Jawa International Industries, 80x500ml hand sanitizers; Gongoni Nig. Ltd, sanitisers.

‘’FECCOX Pharmaceutical Industries donated 60x500ml hand sanitisers; Ado Jones Ltd, 6 cartons x 28x200ml hand sanitizers; CUBDO Venture, 5 cartonsx100 examination gloves; PALS Pharmaceutical Industries, 935x350ml hand sanitizers, ‘’said the statement.

Other kind donations, the statement added, are: ‘’Alhaji Bashir Namadi (Katigan Jega), two ventilators; SMK Projects Enterprises, 20 complete sets of beds; Ladaja Integrated Ventures, 100 (50kg) bags of rice; Digibits Controls 100 (50kg) bags of rice; SKIPPER Nig. Ltd, 100 cartons of Indomie, 14 cartons of powdered milk; Sabza Oil Mills and General Merchants Ltd, 100 jerry cans of cooking oil;

The commissioner in the statement also gave the names of other donors to include: Auduwa Construction Company, 100 (25kg) bags of rice and 100 cartons of spaghetti; Kaura Goje Nigeria Limited, 100 bags of maize flour; Karewa Produce Marketers Cooperative Society Ltd, 100 bags of beans; and MBS Engr. Co. Ltd, 50 (25kg) bags of rice.

According to the statement, he urged organizations and well-to-do individuals within and outside the state to donate generously towards the committee set up to seek and collect donations in cash or kind and distribute same to those in need so as to cushion the harsh effect of the measures being taken by the government against the spread of COVID-19 in Kano.

The statement added that “anyone willing to donate to the committee in cash should pay/transfer to this account: Kano State COVID-19 Support, UBA, Account No: 1022751785, while donations in kind are also collected at a warehouse at number 94, Maganda Road and Kano State Government Printing Press, Emir’s Palace.
