Kano: Gov Yusuf seeks assembly’s approval to establish Center for Disease Control

Kano State House of Assembly has received a letter from the state Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf requesting the House to consider and subsequently approve the request for the establishment of Kano State Center for Disease Control.

SOLACEBASE reports that the letter which was addressed to the Speaker, Jibril Isma’il Falgore was read on the floor of the House on Monday by the Speaker.

A statement issued by Uba Abdullahi, Chief Press Secretary, to the Assembly, said part of the content of the letter stated that; when established the center would promptly  address the prevailing disease outbreak in the State.

Similarly, the House has received a report from the House Standing Committee on Election matters in respect of the screening of a nominee Professor Sani Lawan Malumfashi for the appointment as Chairman, Kano State Independent Electoral Commission.

The report which was read by the Majority Leader of the House, Lawan Hussaini Dala, said the committee found the nominee eligible and qualified for the appointment.

According to the statement, part of the Committee’s recommendations stated that Professor Sani Lawan Malumfashi based on his track records and in accordance with Kano State Independent Electoral Law,2001 is qualified for the said appointment.

The House adjourned sitting to tomorrow Tuesday, in a motion moved by the Majority Leader, Lawan Hussaini Dala, and was seconded by the Minority Leader, Labaran Abdul Madari
