Kano govt sensitizes private school owners on new software
Kano state government has sensitized private school proprietors on a newly developed software to enhance their activities and provide data of operators.
Speaking at the sensitization workshop, on Saturday, the Special Adviser to Kano state governor on private and voluntary institutions, Alhaji Baba Abubakar Umar said the purpose of the workshop was to sensitize the private school proprietors on the usage of newly developed software and also to understand why the government rolled out some policies on private schools.
“About three weeks back, we issued out validation forms free of charge to private school owners, so that the state government will have educational data for planning purposes.”
SOLACEBASE reports that Baba Umar said the government needs to know about the activities of the private school operators and sanitize the sector for effective and quality education/
‘’I was not appointed by the governor to witch-hunt you the private school owners but rather to collaborate with you to improve the sector, ‘’Umar said.
“We have developed a software that can accommodate data of all operators, the first ever in Nigeria that can capture all data required for any government to ensure the operation of private schools is effective.”
“So this sensitization workshop is for the private school owners to understand why we said they will be friends to the government and why the government should be friends to them.”
On his part, Abdullahi Muhammad Abdullahi who is one of the core developers of the software, said the software is a solution that provides a comprehensive portal for school owners and the general public to communicate with Kano state private and voluntary institution board.
He added that it provides educational resources that harmonize and ensure compliance to Kano State policy on education.
“The software, KSPVIB, addresses all interactions between schools and the board, such as tax payment, certificate renewal, SSCE clearance, and new school registration directly without any intermediary.”
In a remark, the chairman National Association of Proprietors of private schools Kano state, Muhammadu Malam Adamu said the software is a welcome development to them because they are moving from Analog to digital.
“Indeed, in a globalized world today, we have no option but to digitalize, if we really want to get our operations carried out seamlessly “
“The software presented today will assist us a lot in managing our activities and also will protect the integrity of private schools in Kano because there are some intruders that do unethical things and spoil our names.”
“This software will go a long way in solving most of our challenges in the private school setting.”
