The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammad Adamu on Thursday approved redeployment of Olusegun Odumosu as Lagos State Acting Commissioner of Police.
Odumosu, who was in charge of security in the Presidential Taskforce on Apapa congestion, would take over the headship of Lagos police from recently promoted Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Zubeiru Muazu.
A statement by police spokesman Frank Mba, a Deputy Commissioner (DCP), said the IG charged the newly deployed officers to improve on public safety and crime-fighting.

Six other Commissioners of Police (CPs) were posted to head Kano (Habu Ahmadu); Cross River (Nkereuwem Akpan); Ogun (Imohimi Edgal); Akwa Ibom (Kenneth Ebrimson); Edo (Lawal Jimeta) and Bauchi (Sule Maku) States.
“He also directs the new Commissioners of Police to work with relevant stakeholders in adopting aggressive, proactive and community-based crime prevention strategies to combat crime in their areas of responsibility.
“In addition, the Inspector General of Police enjoins the citizens of the affected states to accord the Commissioners of Police maximum cooperation to ensure they succeed in the realization of their mandate,” he said.
