Kano Registers Over 328,680 Civil Servants,Dependants In Its Contributory Healthcare Scheme

Kano state Contributory healthcare management agency says about 328, 685  civil servant with their dependents have been registered so far with the agency and 228 health facility engaged with the agency.

The Executive secretary of the Agency Dr Halima mijinyawa stated this on Friday at a two day retreat for staff of the agency, in collaboration with DFID funded MNCH2 holding in kaduna.

Dr Halima mijinyawa in a statement issued by the Chief Public relations officer Kano ministry of health , Ismaila Gwamaja said 215 health facility have enrollees, adding that as at now the agency visited   43 LGA  covering 81 percent of the health facility. ,

According to  the Director  planning and Research of the agency Salisu Umar Dirmin Iya ” the objective of the retreat is to appraise the level of implementation of the agency from inception to date, as well as to generate ideas on the  improvement of the scheme based on the lesson learnt ‘’.

In a remark, the State Commissioner for Health Dr.Kabir Ibrahim Getso who dwelt on the successes so far recorded in the sector urged staff and board members in the agency not to relent till the scheme  covers everybody and ensure the availability of drugs and other consumables in the facility for enrollees to access health care easily.

Dr Getso  commended the management and board members for achieving a lot within a period of six months and hope the tempo would be sustained  adding that,the supervision would be intensified at the ministry level, board agency, and servicom directorate would  also be involved in the  supervision aspect.

Ealier, on his part,  the chairman Governing Board of the Agency, District Head of Tudun Wada Dr Bashir Ibrahim Mohd, advised that, this kind of meeting be maintain yearly as part of the agency activities to be able to measure progress or otherwise.

Similarly, papers were presented from the coordinator NHIS  katsina Abdullahi sani Gwarzo, representative from centre for health economics and development (CHECOD) Dr Olumide Taiwo and Professor Bala kofar mata from Bayero university, kano among others.
