Kano seals private clinic, arrests impostor

Kano State Government has sealed a private clinic and arrested a nutritionist posing as a nurse.

A statement issued and sent to Solacebase on Wednesday by Executive Secretary, Private Health Institutions Management Agency (PHIMA) Dr Usman Tijjani Aliyu, said the health facility, Nasiha clinic at Gaya LGA, was discovered to have admitted two male patients with medical conditions been attended to by the nutritionist posing as a nurse.

‘’The nutritionist was masquerading as a nurse serving medication to the patients which by every standard is quackery according to the laws and guidelines of   PHIMA. The clinic was also in a very poor sanitary condition as well,’’ said the statement.

‘’ The inspection and raid of the hospital was based on the complaints of the residents of the area and suspicion on how patients are treated at the facility, ‘’Dr. Aliyu said in the statement.

‘’The inspection team of the agency also raided Wudil and Ajingi local government areas.’’

The statement said the culprit and the proprietor will be sanctioned appropriately.
