Former minister of Solid Mineral, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has been sworn-in as the Ekiti state governor.
He was sworn in at exactly 12:24pm, shortly after his deputy, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi, had taken his own oath of office.
Dr. Kayode Fayemi was a former governor of the state between 2010 and 2014, and lost to the immediate past governor Ayodele Fayose before regaining the seat on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC).
In his inaugural remark, the new Ekiti state governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi said his coming back to the office is not on a revenge mission but to put the state on a right path.
He said the people should never again allow the state to fall into wreck it found itself presently.
Kayode Fayemi noted that stomach infrastructure will never come on the front burner at the expense of developmental growth of the state.
The governor emphasized that prompt payment of salary will be accorded priority.
