Another set back hits the Kwankwasiyya group with the defection of former Special adviser on solid Minerals to ex-governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, Hajia Balaraba Ibrahim to the All Progressive Congress (APC) from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The former adviser who defected with Rabiu Kwankwaso to PDP at the height of the political crisis was received on Saturday night at Government House by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
Balaraba Ibrahim similarly served in the same capacity with Ganduje before she voluntarily resigned.
She said dumping the PDP and Kwankwasiyya group was the best decision she has made due to impunity and lack of respect for contrary views
“I am ready with my supporters to work for the success of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and President Muhammadu Buhari.”
She said she was leaving Kwankwasiyya group because it was “necessary to depart now in line with the dictates of my conscience and the highest level of sincerity.”
While welcoming the defector, Governor Ganduje expressed optimism that APC would maintain its leadership of ruling the state in 2019.
Ganduje commended Balaraba for her courage and assured her of all necessary support and cooperation.
