Lagos governorship tribunal fixes date to deliver judgment on Sanwo-Olu’s victory

The Lagos State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has fixed a date to deliver judgment on petitions brought before it after the 2023 general election.

The judgement will be delivered on Monday, September 25.

The governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour made this disclosure on Saturday, via a post on X (Formerly Twitter).

 Rhodes-Vivour said he has been told that the ruling will be delivered on Monday.

He posted, “We have just been informed that judgement on our election petition at the tribunal will be delivered on Monday, the 25th of September.”

Rhodes-Vivour, alongside the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Abdul-Azeez Adediran approached the tribunal with their separate petitions.

Citing electoral fraud, among other claims, the two parties are asking the tribunal to nullify the re-election of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Each of them wants to be declared the winner of the election.
