The National Assembly would continue clause-by-clause review of the N143b 2019 elections budget presented by INEC for the next three days.
Chairman of the National Assembly Joint Committee on INEC, Senator Suleiman Nazif, addressing the media after the end of the committee’s meeting on Tuesday said that the national assembly would meet again tomorrow to further observe the budget.
“We do not have a report now until tomorrow by 4pm when we have the details.
When asked why INEC was unavailable to defend the budget, Suleiman Nazif noted that the committee would call on them if there are observations.
He said, “We said they should bring the breakdown of the 143bn. We have to go through it and if there are observations, we call them for defence.”
