The Nigeria Defence Academy, NDA, Kaduna, on Friday, matriculated 529 cadets of 71 Regular Course.
In his speech, the Commandant of NDA, Jamil Sarham warned the cadets against indiscipline and charged them to be loyal and dedicated to their studies.
Mr Sarham, a major-general, said the academy is guided by military and academic ethos which recognizes matriculation as one of the necessary processes for enrollment into academic programs.

“The military profession is one of the oldest professions in human history, in this regards officer cadets training has continued to evolve in response to the dynamics of national defense and global security environment.
According to him, in the pursuance of best practices, NDA has remained committed to providing first class training in military and academic subjects.
“NDA is also committed to moulding the character of cadets while preparing them to earn degrees and be commissioned into the respective services of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
“You must, therefore, desist from any act of indiscipline; you must not only be serious with your training but must also take full responsibility for your actions, as every action has a corresponding consequence”, Mr Sarham said.
In his remarks, the Special Guest, Musa Aisimi who is a retired air-vice-marshal, charged the cadets to live above board, as the future of the Armed Forces would someday be in their hands as prospective generals in their respective services.
“At this stage, your characters are being reformed, hence, you all must uplift your status to become officers and gentlemen.”
Mr Aisimi said that what makes one successful in military service is zeal, hard work, character, knowledge, wisdom and right attitude, which must be imbibed by them if they aspire to wear shining stars of Generals.
News Agency of Nigeria reports that the 529 cadets took the oath of allegiance to the armed forces during the matriculation.
