The Kano First Forum (KFF), a multi-stakeholder coalition of over 200 like minds (organizations and individuals) committed to the unity and development of the state appeal to the State Government to obey court order on the nullification of new emirates so as to respect the sacred power reposed in the court by the constitution of Nigeria.
Solacebase recalled that a Kano High Court presided by Justice Usman Na’aba on Thursday nullified the creation of the four emirates of Rano, Bichi, Gaya, and Karaye alluding to the fact that the process of the creation and the law were not in consonance with the constitution
However the state government through a release by the commissioner for information, Comrade Muhammad Garba said the government is studying the ruling to take the next step, though emphasizing that it would continue to recognize the emirs as the first-class emir.
A statement jointly issued by the forum Director-General Yusuf Rabiu and Secretary-General Nazir Halliru commended the patience and resilience of the good people of Kano State who chose to take the case to the court rather than taking the law into their hands.
‘’We commend the Kano State High Court for its brevity and courage in dispensing justice on a very crucial case of this magnitude, ‘’said the statement.
