A Kano based non-governmental organization, Tinu Impact and Empowerment Initiative has disbursed 1,000 hand sanitizers to one thousand households at Kumbotso village, Kumbotso local government area of Kano state.
The initiative was geared to encourage the local community to imbibe personal hygiene as well as keeping safe from the deadly coronavirus.
Leading team of volunteers on health campaign and awareness creation against the pandemic, founder of the NGO, Barrister Atinuke Alimi Olamide explained the activity was part of regular empowerment program designed to uplift women and youth in the local community.
Barrister Atinuke said that the NGO was concern essentially at the period of the ravaging virus to support government efforts to keep Kano residents safe.

She explained that the sanitizers distributed were locally prepared by hundreds of women who benefited from the empowerment program organised by the NGO.
She, therefore, called for partnership with government agencies and other relevant bodies to improved locally produced sanitizers and other consumables to save cost.
“We are doing this to support the government in the fight against COVID-19. We also wish that the citizens practice personal hygiene to keep them safe from the deadly Virus. We are also serving humanity by providing them with basic needs of life. As such, the humanitarian part of our activities birthed this.
