NLO: NFF suspends two referees over alleged unethical conducts

Nigeria Football Federation Referee Appointment Committee has suspended a referee, Nasiru Idris over alleged poor officiating of a match between Green Beret vs Kaduna Utd.

Also, the chairman Nigerian Referees Association, NRA Katsina state chapter, Abdullahi Shuaibu has been suspended.

SolaceBase reports that the match was played in Kaduna on Wednesday, 24th April 2024 in the ongoing Nigeria League One (NLO) 2024 competition.

This was contained in a statement issued by Abdulgafar Oladimeji, NLO Media Officer II, on Thursday.

According to the statement, the suspension notice stated that ” Please be notified that the Referee of the match, *Nasiru Idris (KD)* is herewith suspended indefinitely and therefore, delisted from further participation.”

It will be recalled that the chairman, NLO, Silas Agara has affirmed the readiness by the league management to continue to ensure sanity and strict adherence to the rules and regulations of the competition.

Speaking on the matter, NLO,  Chief Operating Officer, COO, Olushola Ogunnowo reassured that the league is committed to sustainability measures with the motive to sustain the level of improvements recorded in the league.

He appealed to the competing clubs and officials to uphold their faith in the league, warning that the league would not condone any form of indiscipline and would also therefore not hesitate to invoke disciplinary measures against any erring official assigned to discharge league duties at either of the centres.

In a related development, the chairman NRA Katsina state chapter, Abdullahi Shuaibu has also been suspended over issues concerning alleged unethical conduct in the ongoing  2024 NLO  league season in the state.
