Barr. Saidu Tudunwada emerges MULAN National President

Barrister Saidu Muhammad Tudunwada has emerged as the National President, Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria (MULAN).

SolaceBase reports that Tudunwada, from Kano State, emerged as the new president of the association at its 15th annual general conference held in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Saturday.

According to the result of the election conducted by Barrister Ibrahim Umar SAN, Barrister Saidu Muhammad Tudunwada defeated other contestants that include Prof. Abubakar Matazu, from Uthman Dafodio University, Sokoto, and Yakubu Dangana, SAN from Abuja branch.

Other executives of MULAN for the 2024 to 2026 are Muhammad Nduka Elunor from Delta, is the 1st Vice President, Tijjani Sanda from Yobe, as 2nd Vice President, Akinlabi Akinwale Olatunji, from Oyo State, as Secretary General and  Nureni Okunlola, from Osun State as Treasurer.

The others are Sani Yahaya Wurma, from Katsina emerged Financial Secretary,  Ahmed Loko from Nasarawa State, as Welfare Secretary, Aminu Umar Kalgo, from Kebbi, as Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Musa Izge, from Gombe as 1st Assistant Secretary, Abdulrahman Ahmad Paiko from Niger, as 2nd Assistant Secretary, Hajiya Hauwa Abbas from Adamawa State as Assistant Financial Secretary and Ayuba Abdulrazaq Jabaje from Kwara as Auditor General.

 Profile of new MULAN President

Barrister Saidu Muhammad Tudunwada, LL.B, BL, LL.M, LL.D (In view), ACIARB was born on the 17th day of April 1969.

Tudunwada graduated from Bayero University, Kano in 1994 and holds a master’s degree in law from the same university specializing in Company and Labour Relations Law. He has considerable experience and specialized training in various fields of law.

He has at various times acted as an Advocate, a Solicitor, and also as Arbitrator. He has considerable experience locally and internationally in dispute resolution and complex transactions.

Saidu has advised various public sector clients and has at various times acted on behalf of National

Identity Management Commission, the Independent National Electoral Commission, the Nigerian National Assembly as well as several Commercial Banks and other private sector clients.

Barrister Saidu Muhammad has maintained active engagement with Civil Society Groups, Academia, and public interest organizations.

He has appeared in many cases before the Federal & States High Courts, Court of Appeal, and the Nigerian Supreme Court. He has participated and presented papers in various seminars in Nigeria.

He is the Managing Partner of the law firm of S.D. MUHD & CO. and he is a member of many professional bodies including the International Bar Association (IBA), African Bar Association (ABA), and the prestigious Nigeria Bar Association (NBA). He is the Vice Chairman of the Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria Kano State Branch and was appointed NOTARY PUBLIC by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Walter Samuel Onoghen GCON, then as he was.

Over the years Barrister Saidu Muhammad Tudunwada has lent his expertise to several committees of the NBA Kano Branch, leveraging his legal acumen, relationships and strategic thinking to contribute to the growth and development of the legal profession.

Saidu Muhammad Tudunwada has been an active member and has over the years demonstrated his commitment to serving the Muslims Lawyers Association of Nigeria whenever called upon to do so both at the Branch and the National levels. He has served under various capacities and is contributing to the growth and progress of Mulan. He served as the 2nd Vice Chairman of Kano Branch of Mulan between 2018-2020.

Thereafter, he was opportune to serve as the 2nd Vice President during the tenure of our amiable erudite scholarly and distinguished Professor Abdulkadir Ibrahim Abikan between 2020 – 2022. By divine providence, Saidu Muhammad Tudunwada, Esq., was the current 1st Vice President of the Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria under the leadership of Dr. Kazeem Olaniyan.

Most notably, Saidu Muhammad Tuduwada, Esq. assumed the role of Chairman of the Finance and -und raising Committee of the Law Week 2020 which was meticulously planned and adjudged to be the best so far.

His exceptional organizational skills and commitment to excellence ensured the success of the week-long event, which serves as a vital platform for networking, fostering camaraderie, and supporting the branch’s activities.

At the moment, he is the Chairman Finance and General Purpose Committee of the NBA Kano Branch.

At the moment, he is undergoing his Doctorate Degree in Law (LL.D) at the University of Jos, Plateau State, and he is married to Barrister Fatima Babadisa Goji and he is blessed with seven children.
