NYSC Presidential Award: Buhari grants two Kano indigenes automatic employment, scholarship
Two Kano State indigenes are among 110 ex-members of the National Youth Service Corps, in the NYSC Presidential Award.
President Muhammadu Buhari honoured them at a virtual 2018/2019 President’s National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) award ceremony held at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja on Thursday.
The two Kano indigenes, Aliyu Hafiz Daba, from Dala local government and Yusuf Shamsudeen from Ungoggo were among the 110 ex- corps members President Muhammadu Buhari offered automatic employment in the Federal Civil Service and postgraduate scholarship up to a doctoral level in any university in the country.
Aliyu Hafiz Daba, graduated from Federal University Dutse, Jigawa State with B.Sc Political Science in 2017 and served in Zamfara State in 2018.
Solacebase reports that projects carried out by Aliyu Daba during his service year was voluntary hospital renovation, voluntary donations at NYSC offices in Zamfara, and campaign against social vices with donations at school for special education for physically challenged students.

Also, the second awardee from Kano, Yusuf Shamsudeen had B.Sc Chemistry from Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil in 2017. He is an indigene of Ungoggo local government.
Yusuf Shamsudeen told Solacebase that he served in Delta State in 2018.
Speaking further on his project, during the service year, Yusuf said he constructed Mega water station at OGS Community school, Isoko, North Delta.
President Buhari further announced cash rewards for the ex- corps members and directed the relevant agencies to fast track the implementation of all the incentives.
‘‘On behalf of the government and the good people of Nigeria, I heartily congratulate those honoured on standing out from their peers to merit the honour being bestowed upon them,’’ Buhari said.
‘‘You have proved yourselves worthy ambassadors of your respective families and the National Youth Service Corps. I am very proud of you and confident that the Award shall spur you to greater service to the Nation and humanity.’’
