Over 50,000 Boko haram terrorists surrendered in Lake Chad
Over fifty thousand Boko Haram terrorists including their families have so far surrendered to the troops of Multi National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in the Lake Chad Basin.
Commander, Multi National Joint Task Force, Major General Abdul-Khalifa disclosed this on Thursday when he paid a courtesy call to Freedom Radio in Kaduna.
General Ibrahim said he paid the courtesy call to Freedom Radio Kaduna to express appreciation to the station for informing the general public about the successes being recorded by the military in the ongoing fight against the terrorism in the North East.
He added that no fewer than 300 fighters of the Boko Haram terrorists and Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) have surrendered to Nigerian troops in Bama Local Government Area of Borno state.
The MNJTF commander also disclosed that there is a relative peace in the South Eastern part of the country because of ongoing operations of the military in the region.

General Ibrahim expressed his readiness to partner with Freedom Radio in informing the general public about the successes of the military in the fight against terrorism in the country.
Also in her remarks, the Station Manager, Freedom Radio Kaduna, Hajiya Maryam Lawal Dalhatu said the station through its various programs, focuses on the successes of the Nigerian troops in the fight against insurgency rather than the insurgents’ destructions.
The Multi Joint National Task Force commander later presented a plaque to Freedom Radio as a sign of appreciation to the station.
