Plane crash: CDS orders investigation into death of COAS, 10 others in Kaduna

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Lucky Irabor has ordered an investigation into the plane crash that claimed the life of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru and ten others in Kaduna on Friday.

Solacebase had reported the military plane conveying the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru and ten others crashed at the Kaduna International Airport, on Friday at about 6.00 pm.

However, a statement issued by Acting Director Defence Information Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu on Friday said, the CDS directed that an Accident Investigation Board be constituted to unravel the immediate and remote cause(s) of the unfortunate accident.

The statement said the unfortunate incident occurred after the plane landed at the Kaduna International Airport due to inclement weather.
