A special funeral prayer was held on Saturday in Kano for the repose of Brig.-Gen. Abdulrahman Kuliya and other army officers who died in a plane crash on Friday in Kaduna.
The prayer which was held at Al-Furqan Mosque, in Nasarawa, was led by Prof. Shehu Galadanci and was attended by Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje, top government officials, traditional rulers, members of the National Assembly among others.
Shortly after the prayers, Ganduje prayed to God to pardon their shortcomings, grant them Jannatul Firdaus and give their families the fortitude to bear the loss.
Malam Abbas Yusuf, a family friend, described Kuliya as a philanthropist and dedicated army officer.

Abubakar Sabo, a family member, who described the death as shocking, also said that the late Kuliya was a gallant army officer who gave his all to the fatherland.
He then prayed Allah to admit him and others who lost their live Aljannatul Firdaus.
Until his death Brig.-Gen. Kuliya was the Director, Military Intelligence of Nigeria Army.(NAN)
