Zamfara state Police Command have arrested 20 suspected armed bandits and recovered seven rifles at various locations, Commissioner of Police Mr Kenneth Ebrimson has said.
Mr Ebrimson who briefed newsmen at the command headquarters in Gusau on Tuesday said the armed bandits were mopped up by the IGP’s Special Tactical Squad in collaboration with the state command.
“The armed bandits were arrested with the use of intelligence led policing and very soon the suspects would be paraded before the general public. However their seven rifles seized are displayed for everyone to see,” he said.
He said the command has started investigation that was why they would not unfold the identities of the suspects then, so as not jeopardize the cause of the investigation.
“We are calling for useful information from the public as this will go a long way in helping us to apprehend criminals, he added.
