A 20 year old man,identified as Sultan Bello has been arrested by the Police in Kano for operating an Instagram page impersonating the Emir Of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II.
Kano Police Public Relations Officer DSP Magaji Musa Majiya told Journalists on Thursday that the young man was arrested following a written complaint by a woman named withheld over his suspicious activities, pretending to be the Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II.
He said the suspect was arrested on the 27 of February 2018 at Ja’oji quarters in Kano metropolis, after he has defrauded many innocent people impersonating the emir.
Magaji Musa Majiya also said, the command is currently investigating and interrogating the suspect and he is cooperating with the police noting that subsequently he will be charge to court.
Speaking to journalists at the Police headquarters in Kano, the suspect Sultan Bello admitted that he has been impersonating the emir on social media and collected over two million Naira before he was arrested from unsuspecting people.
