The Nigeria Police said its operatives have arrested a Cameroonian and eight others operating an arms manufacturing factory at their hideout at Amahundu, Nanev, Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State.
ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the spokesperson for the Police paraded the suspects on Friday.
The operators of the gun factory were among 1346 suspects arrested for armed robbery, kidnapping suspects, murder/homicide suspects, unlawful possession of prohibited firearms, rape, and cultism in the past five weeks in various parts of the country by the police

According to the police spokesperson, the arms factory was uncovered on 4th March 2024 by a team from Operation Zenda Joint Task Force, acting on credible intelligence in Benue State.

Olumuyiwa said the police operatives recovered eight Barretta Pistols under fabrication, one AK-47 rifle, 10 AK47 live ammunition, five Barretta pistol ammunition and four welding gas cylinders and other fabrication materials from the suspects.
He said, “Amongst the pivotal cases, on 4th Mach, 2024, a team from Operation Zenda Joint Task Force, acting on credible intelligence, invaded an arms manufacturing hideout at Amahundu, Nanev, Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State and arrested nine (9) suspects including a Cameroonian.
Exhibits recovered from them include 8 Barretta Pistols under fabrication, 1 AK-47 rifle, 10 AK47 live ammunition, 5 Barretta pistol ammunition, four (4) welding gas cylinders, and other fabrication materials.”
