Police debunk viral video of metropolitan violence in Kano

Police Authorities in Kano on Thursday denied a viral video of metropolitan violence where rival gangs were engaged in free-for-all all.

SOLACEBASE reports that the 1.58-minute horror video showed a helpless dude with a knife piercing his stomach as he agonized in pain, while several other victims of the urban violence were seen with various degrees of injury wallowing in pain.

The Kano Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Usaini Gumel who spoke at a stakeholders meeting at Dorayi Karama where it was reported that armed robbers swooped on Muslim worshippers at night prayers, said “Our preliminary findings indicated that the scene from the viral video was not in Kano.”

Gumel explained that “we triggered our intelligence to unravel the mystery surrounding the trending video, but so far the violent scene has no semblance of any known streets or quarters in Kano. “

He said “We have also visited health facilities in Kano metropolis and environs to ascertain where victims of such horror were treated, but up to this moment we have not been able to establish anything meaningful,  as no nobody has reported to the command on anything similar.

Gumel, however, revealed that no fewer than 22 metropolitan robbers were arrested over an attack on Muslim worshippers at Dorayi Karama Quarters of Kano metropolis.

He disclosed that the Command has also launched a massive manhunt for 30 others metropolitan robbers in connection with Dorayi Karama mayhem.

The Compol who read out the names of the fleeing robbers advised the suspects to turn themselves in before the long arm of the law caught up with them.

He directed the police to arrest and treat anyone that come to seek their bail as an accomplice.

Police Commissioner, Muhammad Usaini Gumel, further said that he has deployed armed personnel to the new outpost of the vicinity,  adding that in addition I have also deployed donated 1000 canister of teargas to the area to keep the peace.

Community Leaders who spoke at the meeting reached a consensus that the police should gun down anyone found with arms.
