Crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano on Monday took a new dimension as the  Police command in the state barricaded venue of its gubernatorial primaries.

Kano PDP governorship primaries earlier scheduled for last Sunday was later postponed by the national headquarters till Monday pending resolution of challenges bedeviling the party in Kano.

A member of Kwankwasiyya group of the factional PDP Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam accused the Police of acting the script of the federal government to cripple the party structure in Kano.

He insisted that the security agencies have no authority to prevent the opposition party from holding its lawful primaries.

Abdulsalam, a close associate of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso also challenged the Police from preventing the Kwankwasiyya members from accessing the luggard house, Kwankwasiyya headquarters in the state.

Although a factional PDP in the state placed an advert on radio to inform members that the party is yet to organize gubernatorial primary as they are in discussion with the national headquarters on a fixed date.

The factional Spokesman of the party who placed the advert Alhaji Musa Danbirini urged the members to shun any contrary information.

Speaking to Solacebase on the issue, Police spokesperson in Kano, SP Magaji Musa Majiya said the Police was acting on a court orders on the PDP leadership tussle in Kano.

SP Majiya said there was existing court orders that put a hold to the  dissolution of the party leadership in the state and should be maintained.

He said the police was informed by the PDP national headquarters to provide security for its program in Kano at Sabon Geri on Tuesday which is the only new information with the command on PDP.

It could be recalled that the Uche Secondus led national working Committee directed the dissolution of the PDP Kano executives and replaced with a caretaker committee led by Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi, anassociate of Senator Kwankwaso. But the Masa’ud Doguwa led leadership had since challenged the decision in court with orders insisting on status quo.
