Prof. Abdulkarim takes over as FUD VC, promises inclusive administration

The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor, Federal University Dutse, Prof.Abdulkarim Sabo Muhammed has promised to take critical segments of the university along as he begins his tenure as the 3rd substantive VC.

The new VC made the promise while taking over the mantle of leadership from the former VC, Prof.Fatima Batul Muktar during the handover ceremony on Wednesday.

The former VC Prof Fatima Batul Mukhtar congratulated the new VC and prayed to Allah to guide him in the discharge of his responsibilities.

Prof. Abdulkarim in his acceptance speech said ” As Universities are run on the basis of ideas and committee system, I intend to carry these critical segment of the university; council, management, staff and students along as we move forward. I want to appeal to the university community especially to our unions namely; ASUU, SSANU, NASU, NAAT and SUG to join hands with me to move the university to our desired height.”

He said as the new VC he is aware of the enormity of the responsibility bestowed on him

” I stand here today with utmost humility to accept this great responsibility bestowed on me as the 3rd substantive Vice-Chancellor, Federal University Dutse, one of the fastest-growing universities and Center of excellence. It is indeed a great day for me personally and the university community specifically to witness this great and memorable occasion. Going forward, I want to assure our council, management, staff and students that I am aware of the huge responsibility that comes with this position and I intend to do my utmost best to discharge my duty to the best of my ability”

He appealed to the government and people of Jigawa state to extend the same support given to the former VC to him in order to realise his objectives for the university.

Professor Abdulkarim thanked the Governing Council for the confidence reposed in him by appointing him the VC from the pool of other qualified candidates.

He expressed deep appreciation to Prof. Fatima Batul Mukhtar who gave him the opportunity to serve as Deputy Director (TLR) and later made him Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Services adding that she also supported him to be the new VC.

On behalf council, Senate, management, staff and students of FUD, the new VC  thanked Prof.Fatima Batul Mukhtar for all the giant strides recorded during her tenure. He prayed to Allah to reward her abundantly.
