Rename govt. high school as A.G.F. high school- Group urges Kwara gov.
Youth leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC) Kwara Central have advised the state government to rename Government High School Ilorin after A.G.F. AbdulRasak High School Ilorin immortalize him.
Solacebase reports that Government High School Ilorin was established by the late first northern Nigeria Lawyer, Alhaji Abdulrasak Ganiyu Folorunsho (SAN) in 1967 named Ilorin College Ilorin and subsequently taken over by the government and renamed Government High School in 1970.
The Youth leaders stated this in a release while sympathizing with Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasak over the death of his father, Alhaji Abdulrasak Ganiyu Folorunsho (SAN) on Saturday.
This was contained in the statement jointly signed in Ilorin by the forum coordinator, Mallam Yusuf Abdullah Atolagbe, Secretary, Azeez Akeem Amuyankan and the Public Relations Officer of the group, Mallam Mansood Oluwanishola Salman on Saturday.
The statement described late A.G.F Rasak as a rare gem who had contributed immensely to both human and community development of Ilorin, the state and Nigeria as a whole.
The forum in its condolence message said the Matawalli of Ilorin emirate and Tafida of Zauzzau was an embodiment of peace and good character, who had immortalised himself through his contribution to humanity and Community Development.
The statement further described the one time Nigeria Ambassador to Ivory Coast as the father of Kwara politics who play a very significant role in the creation of the state.
The statement prayed almighty Allah to grant Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and the entire family members, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, the sons, daughters of Ilorin emirate, the Kwara APC members, the entire good people of Kwara state and Nigerians as a whole fortitude to bear the loss.
The statement prayed Allah to grant deceased Aljanatul Fridaoz.
