Rescue Nigeria mission commences as Atiku flags off presidential campaign in Akwa Ibom

The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Candidate in the forthcoming general elections Atiku Abubakar has today flagged off his presidential campaign in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

In his welcome address, the Governor of the state, Udom Emmanuel expressed happiness for the mobilization across the state and decried the current bad situation of the country’s economy, under the APC led government and called for the total support of every well meaning citizen of Akwa Ibom state and Nigeria, to join the rescue Nigeria movement with Atiku Abubakar, whom he described as the only man with the experience and capacity to restore Nigeria. In his words, Governor Udom Emmanuel, who is equally the Chairman of the Presidential Campaign Council said “as we flag off the campaign today, I want to tell Nigerians that hope is finally here”.

Addressing the mammoth crowd who trooped in from every nook and cranny of the state to be part of the history of making a new president, the PDP National Chairman Senator Iyochia Ayu, called on every PDP member to come on board as the train of victory has already started moving.

Ayu mentioned that Nigerians are suffering so much and that the country is more divided under the current APC government. He stated that Nigerians believe that the prosperity, peace and economic growth which the country recorded during the 16 years of PDP government are what every Nigerian is now looking out for. He assured the people that the PDP Government under Atiku Abubakar will restore the country’s past glory, by addressing the current high level of unemployment in the country and focus in growing the economy.

In his goodwill message, the Governor of Sokoto State Aminu Tambuwal, who is also the Director General of Atiku Campaign stated that today is a special day in the history of our democracy as we present to Nigerians, the most competent amongst the presidential candidates. Governor Tambuwal assured the crowd that PDP is the only party that has a balanced ticket that will deliver Nigeria.

The PDP National Youth Leader, Prince Kadade expressed how impressed he was to see such an unprecedented number of Nigerian youths who came to support the party. He mentioned that such was a great signal that Nigerians believe in Atiku and further called on the Nigerian Youths to support Atiku Abubakar in his mission to rescue the country.

The Taraba State Governor Darius Isiaku, who spoke on behalf of the PDP Governors Forum, told the crowd that the PDP has brought an outstanding Nigerian that will reset the country. He promised that the Atiku/Okowa ticket will change the narrative within the first four years, if elected as President and Vice President of Nigeria.

The Senate Minority leader Philiph Aduda who spoke on behalf of the PDP Senate caucus, described Atiku as the President who can address issues and warned that any candidate that comes to the South South region for votes, the people should ask him what his solutions are for the challenges facing the nation.

He canvassed for support for the Party’s presidential candidate by describing Atiku as someone who has what it takes to solve the myriads of problems confronting the nation. Senator Aduda assured that PDP will only engage on issue based campaigns.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, who is equally the party’s Vice Presidential candidate stated that he was very proud of what he saw in Akwa Ibom state – He stated that when one is talking about experience that Atiku Abubakar is a General in that phenomenon.

Governor Okowa thanked the leadership of the Party for accepting to present a General in the person of Atiku, to lead Nigeria at this critical time. The Vice Presidential candidate mentioned that Atiku is somebody who understands Nigeria and as one man, who is willing to stop the insecurity in Nigeria. He promised that the PDP government will ensure the creation of State police, which will help to solve the security challenges in the states.

The elated Atiku thanked the Governor and good people of Akwa Ibom State for their solidarity and support; even as he mentioned that the prosperity recorded in the state under the PDP led government should be replicated in the entire country.

The Presidential Candidate of the Party canvassed for the dedication of the launching of the campaign in Akwa Ibom on good governance. Atiku mentioned that when PDP came into power in 1999, there were so many challenges but the party lifted Nigeria out of them all and built a strong economy

He charged the people to tell everyone in Akwa Ibom to vote massively for the PDP to ensure prosperity for all. He assured that if they vote for PDP, schools will resume, the economy will be recovered and revived, insecurity will be defeated and life will be meanginful again for the citizens of our dear nation.

In his words, Atiku stated that “today in Akwa Ibom State, we hereby flag off the campaign to rescue Nigeria out of disunity” and called on everyone to join the moving train.
