Two Kano indigenes emerge best at Correctional Staff College ASC Course
Two Kano State indigenes have emerged best in the just concluded 28th ASC Basic Course from the Correctional Staff College, Kaduna.
Solacebase reports that a total of 15 Assistant Superintendent of Correctional staff participated in the 6-month course from Kano state, out of 148 ASCs that took part in the course from various commands nationwide.
A statement issued by Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Correctional Services, Kano State Command, DSC Musbahu Lawan K/Nasarawa, on Thursday said the two participants from the Command that emerged best are ASC Muhammad Umar Bello who bagged a Certificate of Excellence (Best in Academics) and Certificate of Merit (Best in Leadership); and ASC Shamsuddeen Sulaiman Usman with a Certificate of Excellence (2nd Position).
The statement said the Controller of Corrections Kano state Command, Suleiman T. Suleiman, expressed happiness while receiving the participants of the course.

‘’The state Controller who extolled their outstanding performance in the course admonished them to put what was learned in their duties so as to better the Service,’’ the statement said.

‘’He went further to state that they have made the state proud by their performances and enjoined them to apply the knowledge acquired in achieving the reformation, rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders in the state.
Muhammad Umar Bello
Solacebase reports that Muhammad Umar Bello, an indigene of Kano Municipal, graduated from Bayero University, Kano in 2010 with a B.Sc in Economics.
He had his NYSC in Kaduna, with the Nigerian Airforce and joined the Nigerian Correctional Services in 2019.
Shamsuddeen Sulaiman Usman
He is an indigene of Kibiya local government area of Kano State.
A graduate of Pure Chemistry in 2014 from Kano University of Science and Technology, served at Girls Science Secondary School Taura, Jigawa State in 2015.
Shamsuddeen Sulaiman Usman joined the Nigerian Correctional Services in 2019.
