UPDATED:BUK new Vice Chancellor receives letter of appointment
Bayero University Kano new Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sagir Abbas has been issued his letter of appointment on Saturday.
The letter of appointment was issued to him by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.
Solacebase reports that Prof. Sagir Abbas defeated three other contestants that include, Prof. Adamu Idris Tanko, Prof. Mohammed Dikko Aliyu and Prof. Dalhatu Balarabe Yahaya in the Vice Chancellorship race of August,5th at the university community congregation election.

‘’The Governing Council of Bayero University, Kano in the exercise of the power conferred on it by Section 4 of the Universities( Miscellaneous provisions) Amendment Act 2003, at its meeting held on Saturday, 8th August,2020considered the submission from the selectionBoard and hereby approves your appointment as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University,’’ Kano for a period of five (5) years, the letter reads.
It said the appointment takes effect from Tuesday, 18th August 2020.
The letter signed by Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council said the condition of service, including remunerations and fringe benefits, shall be as approved for Vice Chancellor in Federal Universities.
