The 14th Fulani Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi Ii, on Wednesday made a historic visit to Kano , 3 years after his dethronement.
Khalifa Sanusi clarified that he was in Kano on his way to Dutse, because of bad weather as he could not fly directly to Jigawa State, which made him stopped over .
“I couldn’t go directly to Jigawa State because of bad weather, and as I touched down in Kano, hundreds of People’s received us and asked me to at least go and greet my Mother which i did”, Emir Sanusi said when received by hundreds of Kano residents.
He however, reminded that as a Citizen he has right to go to any where he so wishes, furthermore there is a Court judgement that allowed him to visit any state he want to.
SOLACEBASE reports that Khalifa Sanusi was coming to Kano, three years after he was deposed by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje after a serious misunderstandings that ensued between the duo.
The 14th Fulani Emir of Kano, said he met many well-wishers at his mother residence along Ibrahim Dabo Road, where they prayed for him with some in tears of love.
After his deposition on March 9, 2020, on allegations of insubordination, the former Emir was “banished” by the Governor of Kano, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to Awe in Nasarrawa State, an action that Federal High Court in Abuja declared as illegal, unlawful and unconstitutional.
He has since returned to Abuja after the memorable visit that turned some Kano Roads to a standstill
