WikkiTimes invites applications for Umaru Pate accountability reporting fellowship

WikkiTimes, a Bauchi-based online medium with a niche in investigative and data-driven journalism, has opened applications for its maiden Umaru Pate Accountability Reporting Fellowship (UPARF) program.

The fellowship targets fresh Mass Communication/Journalism-related graduates and early career journalists from North East and North West, Nigeria with a special interest in investigative reporting, data journalism and fact-checking.

SOLACEBASE reports that the UPARF is a 3-month paid internship program designed to build the capacity of young reporters in accountability journalism through investigative, data-driven and fact-checking reporting that holds powers to account particularly at subnational levels.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by WikkiTimes’ publisher, Haruna Mohammed Salisu, said three successful applicants will be selected for the fellowship and will undergo rigorous training and mentorship by experienced journalists to produce quality investigative and data-driven stories for three months.
