Gov. Yusuf pledges to complete first phase of wuju-wuju road before 100 days in office

Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has restated the commitment of his government to complete the first phase of Wuju-Wuju road measuring 1.2 kilometres length before the first hundred days of his administration.

The Governor gave the assurance when he paid an inspection visit to access the level of progression as contractors handling the project has mobilised back to site.

A statement issued by Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor, on Wednesday said, Abba Kabir Yusuf expressed happiness that the contract was awarded during the second tenure of Kwankwaso’s administration.

“I am a fulfilled man today in the sense that I gave a lot of contributions towards the conceptualisation and execution of this gigantic project that is the construction of covered sewage conduits and road of 6.7 kilometres along Jakara-Kwarin Gogau river.”

‘’The Governor went on to say the project was abandoned by the preceding administration after we left government in 2015 and was envisaged to mitigate the effects of climate change in Kano, ‘’the statement said.

‘’He called on the contractor handling the project to do what it takes in ensuring that the project is completed before the first hundred days of his government as it was promised during electioneering processions.’’
