Zazzau Emirate district head dies after participating in sallah durbar

Zazzau Emirate has lost a District head, Engineer Aminu Umar.

Umar, a prince in the emirate died after participating in all the Sallah durbar and other Eid-el-Fitr activities.

Late Engineer Umar who was also the Walin Zazzau and District head of Ikara, is a descendant of late Emir Dalhat from the Barebari ruling dynasty of Zazzau Emirate.

He was a one-time Chief Executive Officer of the Kaduna State Water Board.

As Walin Zazzau, the late Engineer Umar was one of the most senior titleholders in the emirate.

The death was confirmed in a statement, issued by Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai, Media and Publicity, head of Zazzau Emirate, on Sunday.

It said the deceased had participated in the Hawan Daushe Sallah durbar in Zaria on Friday and was one of the district heads that paid the Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, Sallah homage.

Late Walin Zazzau died leaving behind wives and many children.

He has since been buried, according to Islamic rite, at Amaru in Zaria city.
