Letter of complaint against Aminu Garko

I, Bashir Bello, write to the council to formally lodged a complaint against the person of Aminu Garko who physically attacked me on Friday, at the Secretariat of the Correspondent chapel, Kano NUJ over altercation we had.

The whole episode occurred in the presence of the Vice Chairman of the Chapel, Abdullahi Jalaludeen.

The whole thing started when we were discussing the issue of selection for an assignment, specifically, Thursdays assignment of Kano State Public Compliant and Anti-Corruption Commission which

some members of the chapel including myself got invitation for the assignment (strictly on invitation). Suddenly, Garko picked offence against my person for attending the same assignment as an Exco member and threatened that he will revenge. And I replied to him that I cannot be threatened as my destiny is in the hands of God who has destined what belongs to me.

In the process, he got provoked and descended on me and attempted to strangulate me. It took the intervention of the vice chairman, Jalaludeen and the security personnel who rescued me.

I hope my letter will be treated with utmost attention.

Thank you.

Bashir Bello
