2019: Datti Baba-Ahmed Joins PDP Presidential Race

The Peoples Democratic Party PDP Presidential aspirants for 2019 general election is becoming so interesting with a former federal lawmaker and an activist Dr. Datti Baba Ahmed accepting the calls by  millions of Nigerians to come and salvage the country from total collapse.

His entrant into the presidential race is viewed by many politicians as a positive omen and hope for the masses with his antecedent as an incorruptible, detribalized Nigerian and a tested grass root politician.

Dr. Datti Baba-Ahmed was elected in April 2003 to the House of Representatives for Zaria Federal Constituency, Kaduna State and a former Senator representing Kaduna North.

Datti  Baba-Ahmed was popular for his principled activism during the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo. He was among lawmakers who opposed the undemocratic for a third term.

In the build up to 2007 general elections, in May 2006 he said he would not run for reelection unless action was taken to investigate allegations that members had been bribed to support the constitutional changes needed for a third term presidency.

And in 2007 he took the Independent National Election to court over conduct of past elections. He was known for speaking out against corruption and an advocate of good governance and accountability

Dr. Datti Baba-Ahmed popularly called DBA by admirers has a BSc in Economics from the University of Westminster United Kingdom and at the age of 41 obtained 2 masters degrees and  a PhD.

The former House of Representatives member and Senator established a University and two other companies employing more than 600 people from every state of the federation.

Speaking at a media fora recently Dr. Datti Baba-Ahmed emphasized the need to ensure every Nigerian is accorded sense of belonging to believe in the Nigeria Project.

He highlighted some of the ways to move the country forward with his vast experience as a successful businessman, an astute politician and an administrator per excellence.

“Nigeria is not a poor nation and the people are not lazy but rather need a visionary leader who the populace can trust and his pragmatic,” Datti Baba-Ahmed .

Senator Dr. Datti Baba Ahmed at 48 years old has joined the 2019 presidential race under the PDP which many political observers say will brightens the chance of the party to reclaim  the country  from the APC led administration as he champions the new generation to Fix Nigeria.
