2019 Election: Presidential Aide Accuses Sen. Kabiru Gaya Of Violating Peace Accord In Kano

Crisis seems looming in Kano South Senatorial District as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters ( House of Representatives ), Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila on Tuesday threaten to jettison the peace accord signed with Senator representing Kano South , Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya before the Kano Police Command recently.

In a petition addressed to Kano Police Commissioner Rabiu Yusuf , Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila , an Aspirant for the district senatorial zone, alleged that Senator Kabiru Gaya has being touring the district for campaign ahead of the APC party primary with political thugs displaying dangerous weapons openly in flagrant disregard to the peace accord signed by himself and Kabiru Gaya at the state police command.

The petition titled “Petition Against Breaking Of Law And Order, Violation Of Peace Pacts Of Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya And His Campaign Team” dated 18^th September accused Senator Kabiru Gaya campaign team of attacking his supporters, destroying his banners and posters.

Granting interview to reporters after submitting the petition Abdulraham Kawu Sumaila threatened that his team may be force to retaliate if the Police did not caution or call the Senator to order.

“Nobody has monopoly of violence as the situation is becoming alarming, if our supporters are pushed to the wall, they may be compelled to retaliate.

“All along the police commissioner invited us to sign the peace pact with the political tension in the zone and considering the wider security implication coupled of weeks back, but it seems that the police are not trying to ensure that the peace accord is respected “.

In some pictures that went viral online on Monday , Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya was allegedly seen among some suspected political thugs displaying dangerous weapons.

Reacting to the development after receiving the petition, the command Spokesman, SP Magaji Musa Majia said the issue will be treated with utmost urgency as investigation will commence immediately.

“The Senator will be invited to ascertain the veracity of the petition and ensure that there is no breakdown of law and order, “said SP Majia.
