BREAKING: Adamawa govt shuts schools over measles outbreak

In response to a measles outbreak, the Adamawa State Government has taken swift action, ordering the immediate closure of all public and private schools. 

The directive, issued on Monday, aims to curb the spread of the disease and facilitate vaccination efforts by the State Primary Health Care Development Agency (PHCDA).

The Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, through Permanent Secretary Aisha Umar, rescheduled the school resumption date to May 13, 2024.

He urged strict compliance from all educational institutions.

With 42 children already lost to the outbreak, the government emphasises its commitment to containing the disease and preventing further casualties through these necessary measures.
