Alleged Misappropriation: Kano Anti-Corruption Commission invites Metropolitan Agency DG, Engr. Ramat

Kano State Public Complaints and Anti- Corruption Commission has invited Director-General, State Metropolitan Agency, Engr Abdullahi Garba Ramat over alleged misappropriation of fund and the use of his personal company as a contractor in the organisation.

A  reliable source at the commission told Solacebase on Wednesday that Engr Abdullahi Garba Ramat filed a complaint against the State Metropolitan Agency, Director of Administration and General Services (DAGS) over the unlawful change of banks signatories of the organization and issuing instructions to staff as acting DG of the agency.

The source said the DG explained that though he has won the APC ticket to contest Chairmanship seat for Ungogo Local Government Council and he is still the DG pending his resignation but so surprise with the acts of the Director of Administration and General Services (DAGS).

‘’ So based on this complaints the commission invited the DAGS who came with several documents alleging the Director-General misappropriated millions of naira of the agency and using his personal company as a contractor to the organization,’’ said the source.

Hence with this, the source said the commission then commenced an investigation into the allegations of misappropriation of fund and the use of a personal company as a contractor by the DG and that of the DAGS actions.

‘’The investigation has now opened up so many things that warranted us inviting Engr Abdullahi Garba Ramat for clarification,’’ the source confirmed.

‘’He may be prosecuted if a prima facie case is established against him from what we have seen so far.’’

When contacted, Engr Abdullahi Garba Ramat denied the allegation of fund misappropriation and the use of his company to carry out contract jobs at the agency.

‘’Look, I am the complainant of the acts of the DAGS. So where do you see fund mismanagement and the use of my company to carry out contract jobs in the agency? Anybody can go to the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to find out the ownership of companies that work for us.’’

However, Solacebase contacted the Commission Chairman, Barr. Muhuyi Magaji Rimin-Gado over the issue, but he declined to comment.
