‘Allow democracy to thrive, Sha’aban Sharada remains Kano guber candidate of our party’-ADP replies IPAC

The campaign secretariat of the Action Democratic Party ADP has urge the Kano state Inter Party advisory council to desist from embarking on hatchet job and doing the bidding of a particular interest group and  allow democracy to prevail as Nigerians and Kano people are fully prepared for the 2023 General elections.

The party’s Gubernatorial running mate for the 2023 elections in Kano and ADP Chairman Alhaji Rabiu Ahmad Bako stated this while reacting to an endorsement by IPAC of Nasiru Hassan Koguna who voluntarily withdrew from the race as the ADP Gubernatorial candidate in Kano on 11th of August.

Solacebase recalls that Kano IPAC , on Monday, had a press conference where the group expressed  support for Nasiru Hassan Koguna of the ADP, whom the party said voluntarily withdrew from the governorship race.

The IPAC in a release signed by some its members, that include Abdullahi Abbas of the All Progressive Congress, Salisu Umar of the Young Peoples Party (YPP), among others alleged that Nasiru Koguna was not well treated after his withdrawal from the race.

A statement issued by Abbas Yushau Yusuf Spokesperson to Kano ADP Gubernatorial Campaign Council, Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada, on Monday, said the former gubernatorial candidate was just a place holder presented by the party to the Independent National Electoral commission pending when a competent hand will emerge as the party’s Candidate for Kano.

‘’The Kano party chairman, Rabiu Bako noted that Hassan Koguna which was purpoted to have been endorsed by IPAC did not follow the regulations like purchase of expression of interest form but was presented to INEC as a place holder to fill in the Vacuum, ‘’the statement said.

‘’On his withdrawal the candidate purchased EC 118 and withdrew as the ADP candidate without been forced.’’

‘’The party’s Gubernatorial running mate said IPAC that endorsed a candidate who withdrew on his own volition, is entitled to its opinion ,but the ADP leadership is surprised of the endorsement even though they might  have been tele-guided to do the biddings of some certain vested interests.’’

‘’Alhaji Ahmad Rabiu Bako added that the Kano state Inter Party advisory council has betrayed the trust of its members and a conglomeration of other political parties which formed it for political engagement.’’
