The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has rejected APC’s NEC Meeting schedule to hold next week led by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC).

Solacebase reports that the Commission referred to the party letter dated 8th March, 2022 titled ‘’Invitation to the emergency meeting of the National Executive Committee’’.

Recalls that Governor Sani Bello took over the leadership of the party on Monday 7th March in a controversial situation that said Mai Mala Buni has been sacked as Chairman with the consent of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Though a leaked letter of Mai Mala Buni before he travelled out of the country, indicated that he handed over to Sani Bello as the vice chairman before his trip.

In a letter addressed to the National Chairman, All Progressive Congress, Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) dated 9th March, 2022 and signed by Secretary to the Commission, Rose Onaran-Anthony, INEC draws the party attention to the fact that the notice for the meeting was not signed by the National Chairman and National Secretary of the CECPC contrary to the provision of the Article 1.1.3 of the Commission’s Regulations and Guidelines for political party operations (2018).
