APC headquarters yet to recognize any candidate as its state chairman in Kano – Isma’il Ahmad

A member of the care taker committee of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Ismal’il Ahmad said the party is yet to recognize any candidate as the legitimate chairman in Kano state.

Isma’il Ahmad who doubles as the National Youth leader of the party, made the revelation Wednesday in an interview with Freedom in Kano, monitored by Solacebase.

He said the party headquarters will deliberate on the matter before making its decision.

He noted that the representatives of the party sent from Abuja to monitor the congresses are yet to submit their reports

Solacebase recalled that two factional leaders emerged from the October 16th state Congress of the party, with Abdullahi Abbas and Haruna Danzago both laying claims as the duly elected chairmen.

On Wednesday , before the State Executive Council meeting, Governor. Abdullahi Ganduje said that the National headquarters of the APC has recognized his anointed candidate, Abdullahi Abbas as Chairman of the party.

This was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar.

Also, the Senator, representing Kano Central, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau had said that the candidate of his faction, Ahmadu Haruna Danzago is the elected Chairman of the party in the state.

Senator Ibrahim Shekarau stated this at an empowerment program in the state on Tuesday.
