ASUU awards scholarships to two BUK indigent students
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has awarded scholarships to two brilliant indigent students of Bayero University, Kano (BUK).
SOLACEBASE reports that the support is under the ASUU annual scholarship scheme.
According to a statement jointly signed by Comrade Sagir Saleh and Comrade Kabiru Haruna Isa, BUK ASUU acting Chairman and Secretary respectively, the award was presented to the beneficiaries at a ceremony held at the union’s Secretariat, Old Campus on Wednesday.

The statement said the Scheme aims to support the education of brilliant students who come from a very humble background across all the branches of the Union.
‘’Each of the awardees, who were selected following a meticulous screening exercise, received the sum of N200,000.00, ‘’the statement said.

‘’The award was presented to the beneficiaries by the Acting Chairperson, ASUU-BUK, Dr Sagir Saleh, on behalf of the ASUU President, Emmanuel Victor Osodoke. Hopefully, this gesture will go a long way in assuaging the financial burden on these students.’’
