BREAKING: ASUU describes news of strike suspension as fake
Academic Staff Union of Universities has described a trending statement announcing the suspension of its ongoing strike as fake news.
Solacebase reports that the said release with the signature of ASUU President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi without a letterhead went viral on Wednesday evening.
It was titled ”Notice of suspension of ASUU indefinite strike action of all member universities across Nigeria and dated 18th November 2020.

ASUU in a tweet on Wednesday marked the notification statement as fake news.

The purported statement said the suspension of the strike follows a meeting between the federal government and ASUU on Monday.
Solacebase reports that FG and ASUU are scheduled to resume the negotiation meeting on Friday.
