BREAKING : Court Stops Daily Nigerian From Publishing Ganduje Alleged Bribery Videos

A Kano State High Court presided by Justice Namallam, has on Monday 19th of November, 2018, granted an interim injunction sought by the Plaintiff/Applicant, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, in an alleged  defamation case filed against Jafaar Jafaar and the Daily Nigerian Newspaper.

The application sought for AN ORDER restraining the 1st and 2nd Defendant and their agents from publishing, sharing or spreading videos injurious to the Plaintiff/Applicant, pending the determination of the substantive application slated for hearing on the 6th of December, 2018.

The Plaintiff Counsel, Nuradeen Ayagi Esq., in a further oral adumbration of his legal arguments, stressed the importance of restraining other parties associated with Jafaar Jafaar, and the Daily Nigerian Newspaper when asked by the Court to shed more light on the use of the word ‘entities’ in referring to the agents of the Defendants.

The Court also granted the second prayer of the Plaintiff/Applicant for AN ORDER of substituted service on the defendants, and ordered publications in the Daily
Trust Newspapers and Leadership Newspapers as sufficient service to them.

The Judge subsequently adjourned for hearing of the Motion on Notice for the 6th day of December, 2018.
