BUK promotes 772 academic, non academic staff – Official
The Governing Council of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), has approved the promotion of 772 academic and non academic staff of the institution.
Solacebase reports that the University’s Information and Publicity Secretary, Mr Lamara Garba, made the disclosure in a statement on Friday in Kano.
“The University Governing Council approved the submission by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sagir Adamu-Abbas, in respect of the 2021 promotion exercise,” Garba said.
He said that seven persons were promoted to the rank of Professors, 18 Associate Professors, while 747 non academic staff were promoted to various ranks.

“Out of the 747 non academic staff, three were promoted to the rank of Deputy Registrar.
“They are the Chairman, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Mustapha Aminu, University’s Information and Publicity Secretary, Lamara Garba, and Halima Zubairu of the registry’s office,” Garba said.
He said that the promotion of the Professors and Associate Professors took effect from Oct. 1, 2020, while the non academic were from Oct. 1, 2021.
The spokesman quoted the VC as urging the newly-promoted staff to justify their promotions by hard work and dedication to duty. (NAN)
