Court Never Issued Order Against Gov. Ganduje’s Wife, Hafsat- AG

Kano state government says a purported order issued by FCT High Court seeking an accelerated hearing in a suit to compel EFCC to arrest and prosecute Governor Abdullahi Ganduje ‘s wife, Hafsat Ganduje is a fabrication as such order does not exist.

A statement issued by Kano state Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Barr. Ibrahim Muhktar on Monday said the order was concocted and misrepresentation of fact with false assertion.

He said the order was falsified by mischief makers and desperate politicians to embarrass Dr. Hafsat Ganduje as the issued order by Justice Yusuf  Halilu of the FCT Court was falsified.

He explained that the Incorporated Trustees Of Hope Development and Empowerment Foundation. The Plaintiff in the suit filed the case in November 2018 and December 10 was fixed for mention of the case in which they were neither in court nor were they represented.

He noted that in the prayers of the Plaintiff, arrest and prosecution of the governor’s wife and substitution of the governor’s name by the All Progressive Congress as it Candidate in Kano were not included in the prayers.

“The Plaintiff requested the court to grant substituted service of the writ of summon, hence for them to serve the defendants, through Kano state Liaison house in Abuja which was what the court granted.”

“But surprisingly   we were never served personally nor through substituted means as granted by the court. “However it was this order that was later forged to reflect the intention of the authors.”

According to the Attorney General, “We discovered all this through our findings at the court registry in Abuja. Its’ a public document that anybody can cross check at the court.

Solacebase recalled that an order was reported to have been issued by  a High court sitting at Maitama for accelerated hearing of a suit filed by a group under the auspices of Incorporated Trustees of Hope Development and Empowerment Foundation versus Kano state government, APC and Dr. Hafsat Ganduje.

The suit was marked cv/344/18 while the motion ex-parte was marked M/887/18.
