Court orders criminal summon against KAROTA MD, Dan’agundi

A Kano Chief Magistrate Court 8 has ordered a criminal summon be issued against Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA) Managing Director, Baffa Baba Dan’agundi to appear personally to respond to the allegation against him.

Solacebase had reported that a complainant, Mujitapha Isa, a tricycle rider made a direct complaint to a Chief Magistrate Court against KAROTA Managing Director alleging unlawful violence, intentional assault, causing grievous bodily harm, criminal abuse of authority and offering bribe on his person.

The Chief Magistrate Court then directed the police in a letter addressed to Assistant Commissioner of Police, Zaria Road Area Command, requesting for the investigation of the Managing Director of Kano Road and Traffic Agency (KAROTA) Baffa Babba Dan Agundi, over the allegation.

The letter written by the court registrar dated March 1st, directed that a discreet investigation be carried out against Baffa Babba Dan Agundi, upon the complaint.

The court order issued by Chief Magistrate Ibrahim Khalil Mahmoud dated March 18th, was sequel to an application filed by Counsel to the complainant, Barrister Abba Hikima, citing relevant statutory and judicial authorities in support of the application.

The Court ordered that the ongoing investigation before the police with regards to the complainant’s complaint is hereby terminated.

The matter was then adjourned to March, 22nd 2021.
